Fashion Show | BELLEVILLE: Annual Fashion Show To Benefit Belleville Womens Club

The latest in women’s fashion will be on display this week at a show sponsored by the Belleville Area Women’s Club (BAWC) and Dress Barn of Canton. On Wednesday, the Woodlands of Van Buren will transform into a glamorous destination of fashion, food and entertainment. On the catwalk, casual, business and evening wear will be modeled by six members of the BAWC and one celebrity guest -The Honorable Tina Brooks Green of 34th District Court in Romulus. Registration and cocktail hour start at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and the fashion show at 8 p.m.
Event Chairperson, Joyce Rochowiak said the Women’s Club has been hosting this fashion show for nearly 30 years.
“We expect a big turnout because many ladies look forward to this event every year. It’s a night filled with fun and excitement,” said Rochowiak. “We encourage the public to come out and see the latest styles, and at the same time, support education in our community.”
According to Rochowiak, the fashion show is the club’s biggest fundraiser. She expects about $3,000 to be raised this year. Proceeds are used to fund scholarships and community outreach programs.
“Our club is about women helping women. We offer two college scholarships: one for a Belleville High School graduating senior and another one for a mature woman returning to college,” said Rochowiak. “
Raffle prize money will also be awarded to three winners: 1st prize – $700, 2nd prize – $200 and 3rd prize – $100.
