Fashion Show | Not So Ordinary Fashion Show
A student designer from Annapolis High School (AHS) captured third place in an unusual prom-themed fashion show.
The challenge, sponsored by the county Department of Public Works Waste Management Services Recycling Division, was to create formal wear made completely out of recyclable materials, according to a release from the county.
The inaugural RMO (RecycleMoreOften) Runway Contest was held at Quiet Waters Park.
Joy Stephanie Telan of AHS designed and modeled her creation, taking third place.
Telan made a dress out of a black garbage bag, adorned with aluminum cans cut and feathered to resemble flowers. The dress had an aluminum foil top and bubble-wrap sleeves.
The other winners were:
First Place” Designers Kathryn Deaton and Mary Catherine Parker and model Sarah Escalera of Indian Creek Upper School.
Second Place” Designers Amari Belt and Brice Fischback and model Taijhe Belt of Broadneck Senior High School.
Honorable Mention” Designer Emily Fiore and model Sudara Nick of Broadneck Senior High School.
