Julie Tierney had fun, but her time on the fashion design stage is over.
The local designer and Loki graphics design intern was eliminated in Thursday night’s episode of “Project Runway” on Lifetime TV.
Before judge Heidi Klum kissed Tierney, 35, goodbye for the final time, Tierney told the judges she had fun during her four weeks on the reality show.
Moments after her elimination, Tierney was still proud of the coat-dress she designed for the challenge.
“I just think it was cool,” Tierney said when reached on her cellphone Thursday night. “To go out on that garment, I’m fine with.”
The challenge Tierney was eliminated on was perhaps the toughest of any challenge in the nine-season run of the show.
On this week’s episode, the designers were given $200 and less than two days to create a day-to-evening look for Nina Garcia, one of the three judges on “Project Runway.”
Garcia also is the fashion director at Marie Claire magazine and notoriously difficult to please because of her specific tastes and high standards.
Repeatedly during Thursday’s episode, Tierney said the realization that designers were expected to produce innovative clothes in such limited time had become a challenge.
Despite the fact Tierney has been eliminated, her obligations to the show have not ended. Tierney will attend Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week
