Garden Accessories | MOVING ON UP

There’s a new store on the block at the Shoppes at Paradise Key, but it’s a familiar face to Destin.

Kirkland’s, a national specialty retailer in home décor and gifts, recently moved to its new location at 4429 Commons Drive East after 11 years at its old home at 98 Palms Shopping Center.

“We decided to move based on the surrounding retailers like Old Navy and Stein Mart as well as Destin Commons,” said Sarah Weaver, Kirkland’s leasing manager. “The new location is more trafficked with all the shopping and restaurants and the Mid-Bay Bridge.”

With 60 percent more floor space, the store will still offer a broad selection of traditional home décor, including framed art, mirrors, candles, lamps, picture frames, accent rugs, garden accessories and artificial floral products.

“The new store layout and redesigned fixtures make displaying merchandise easier. It’s not quite as cluttered and creates a nice shopping atmosphere,” Weaver told The Log.

The new Kirkland’s location is open for business and will celebrate its grand opening Sept. 10 and 11 with free decorating demonstrations and consultations, sales and more.
