Snakes are nocturnal this time of year. They mainly come out at night when it’s cooler. It’s also the time of year snakes are giving birth to their young, and your flower garden might be the perfect nursery.
While some snakes give birth to live young, other’s like a corn snake, lay eggs. And the mulch around your home is an ideal nesting spot.
“When young snakes are born, they disperse and are looking for a new home, or food or whatever,” said Jason Reger, animal wildlife specialist.
Poorly sealed garage doors allow easy access for these unwanted house guests.
