Garden Decor | Annual Summer In Ligonier Arts And Crafts Fair Held Saturday
In Ligonier, “it’s like there’s a party all the time,” says Fairfield resident Carol Oravetz. “There’s always something happening.”
She and hubby Steve were on the Diamond on Saturday morning browsing through the wares at the annual Summer in Ligonier Arts and Crafts show and sale.
The weekend activity wasn’t limited to the Diamond, though, as battle re-enactments were staged at Fort Ligonier and the weekly country market and summer Sunday evening concert also drew visitors to town.
Avid gardeners Erica Jordan and Lauren and Charlotte Mudge, all of Latrobe, perused the arts and crafts after their regular trip to the market to buy fresh flowers. “Always flowers,” Lauren confirmed.
Despite the heat, vendor Lucy Scozzaro expressed satisfaction with both the foot traffic and the sales at her Ant Doli’s Emporium booth. She said Saturday the light cloud cover and breeze on Saturday morning were a welcome relief from Friday’s blazing sun.
Shopping opportunities were available for the young (a variety of toys including Ant Doli’s baby doll accessories) and for more sophisticated, mature tastes (jewelry, calligraphy, home and garden decor) — and kettlecorn for all ages.
Seen in Ligonier: John and Judith Golock, Steven and Jody McKay, Samuel Scozzaro, Cliff Dupill, Kim Kramer, Taryn Kramer, Lynn Dalzell Friedberg, Cheryl Bradbury, Bev McMaster, Logan McMaster and Maria Thibault , with daughters Priscilla and Daphne Chavez.
