Like Octenol, R-Octenol works with the carbon dioxide released by Mosquito Magnet traps to attract mosquitoes by mimicking human breath. The attractant’s active ingredient, R-(-)-Octen-3-, is most effective when used in the northern and coastal regions of the U.S. to attract no-see-ums, black flies and mosquitoes, including salt marsh mosquitoes.
Though R-Octenol can be used in all Mosquito Magnet traps, it is an especially good fit for the Executive trap . When using the power-saving modes on the Executive, the propane tank can extend to 30 days- the same amount of time R-Octenol lasts before needing to be replaced.
