DIY enthusiasts in Headington, Oxfordshire, are planning to tackle inconsiderate drivers in the area with their own traffic-calming measures.
The local community is fed up of the village being used as a short-cut by motorists and has come up with some novel methods to counter this, the Oxford Mail reports.
Techniques usually reserved for garden landscaping , such as placing “a nicely decorated plant pot” or some flowers around the sides of the road, could create “a sense of people having to slow down”, chairman of the Highfield Residents’ Association Patrick Coulter was quoted by the news source as saying.
