Master Gardeners honor two students

The Master Gardeners of Ocean County has announced the winners of its 2011 scholarships. Each recipient will receive $1,000 toward his future education.

The recipients are Kevin Dillon, a graduate of Jackson Memorial High School and a student at the Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science (MATES), Manahawkin, and Kyle Shankle, a graduate of Jackson Memorial High School who attended MATES in his freshman and sophomore years.

Kevin’s goal is to be a biologist with concentrations in ecology and the environment. His future plans are to attain his doctorate at Rutgers
