Patio Garden | Property Annexed On King Street, Rezoned On Thomas Avenue

Boaz City Council members annexed property on King Street andrezoned land on Thomas Avenue during their meeting Monday at thesenior center.

The newly annexed property is located at 960 S. King St. andowned by Roy Morrow.

The rezoned land is located on Thomas Avenue and owned byRandall Pankey. The Council rezoned the property from a townhousedistrict to a patio/garden home district after the requestencountered no opposition in a public hearing earlier at themeeting. Pankey would like to build patio/garden homes, naming theproject The Gardens Phase 4, according to documents.

In other business:

The Council authorized solicitation of bids for eight itemstypically awarded annually. They are for sports uniforms and caps;grave openings and closings; off-road diesel fuel; concrete pipe;gas and diesel fuel; pickup and disposal of inert landfillmaterials; miscellaneous paving materials; and one-and-quarter-inchcrusher run rock.

Boaz Fire and Rescue received a certificate of excellence forbeing named to the Office of EMS and Trauma Culture of Excellence.The Culture of Excellence recognizes EMS agencies that receive asuperior rating for quality of emergency medical service, equipmentand personnel.
