There is good news for all female slimmer’s out there who love to indulge in the occasional glass of wine.
According to a study by Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, of 19,220 women surveyed, it was discovered that those who consumed 15-30g of alcohol every single day were 30% less likely to become overweight/obese than women who did not drink.
The study
Aged 38.9 years and over, 19,220 healthy US women with a BMI of 18.5 to 25 were questioned about their annual alcohol slimming over a 12.9 year period.
Free from cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes to begin with, all 19,220 women underwent 8 annual checkups where they had to report their average alcohol consumption, smoking status, non-alcohol intake, physical activity and dietary habits.
Once all these elements were taken into consideration and factored into their slimming, it was discovered that 30% of women who drank 1-2 glasses of wine a day were less likely to suffer from obesity than average non-drinkers.
But how is alcohol slimming even possible?
It would definitely seem that we women have got a lot to be thankful for. Whilst in most men excessive alcohol can lead to a very unattractive beer belly; in women alcohol appears to do the opposite helping instead to speed up your metabolism whilst inhibiting the development of fat cells in your body.
Yet it is important to remember that alcohol can lead to many other health complications if you are not careful.
