The Winter Olympic Games is a sporting event that takes place in a different city every four years. It includes many of the best athletes from all over the world. The 2010 Winter Olympics, officially known as the XXI Olympic Winter Games or the 21st Winter Olympics, will be held on February 12″28, 2010, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, with some events held in the resort town of Whistler nearby. Both the Olympic and Paralympic Games are being organized by the Vancouver Organizing Committee (VANOC).

The 2010 Winter Olympics will be the third Olympics hosted by Canada, and the first by the province of British Columbia. Previously, Canada was home to the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal and the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. 2010 is already a great year for sporting events with Scotland, England, Wales, Italy, France and Ireland battling it out in the Six Nations Rugby as well as the Winter Olympics having just kicked off in Vancouver. Six Nations Rugby: February 6th – March 26th

Will the usual powers remain supreme or is a dark horse ready to come to the forefront in 2010? Only time will tell.
