If you missed out on the first phase of tickets for the World Cup, phase 2 started May 4th 2009. In just a few days, over 150,000 tickets have been sold in the second phase. Now is the time to get your tickets for this historical event. For the first time ever, the world cup will be held in South Africa. It is the first time the tournament has been hosted by the Confederation of African Football.

So, how do you get your tickets? If you do not live in South Africa:

* You can apply online using your credit card.
* You can print a downloadable application and fax it or mail it to the world cup ticket centre in Switzerland.

If you live in South Africa:

* Paper application forms are available at all First Bank branches in South Africa.
* Online using your credit card

You can also try using an online auction site to get your tickets. Some people buy their tickets, and for whatever reason realize that they will not be able to attend. Be careful, though, and buy from a reputable buyer. Also, make sure they have not inflated the price. You don’t want to pay twice the price of what they are worth.

There are going to be a total of five phases, so if you miss phase one and two, you can buy in phase three, four or five. Phase 3 will begin December 5th 2009 and end January 22nd, 2010. Phase 4 will begin February 9th 2010 and end April 7th 2010. Phase 5 will begin April 15th and end July 11th. Tickets are subject to availability, so if you are thinking of buying your tickets at the last minute, you may find your preferred categories and matches have been sold out.

There are two types of tickets available; Match tickets, and Team Specific Ticket series. (TSTs).

Match tickets are individual tickets, and are available for all matches.

Team Specific Ticket series are ticket strips to follow the national team of your choice. You do not have to root for your specific nationality.

Keep these points in mind when applying for tickets:

Opening match tickets are generally more expensive than the other group matches, because the opening match includes the opening ceremonies.

You must attend each match that you have purchased tickets for.

You can apply for up to four tickets per match with a maximum of seven matches; or you can apply for a maximum of four Team Specific Ticket Series for your team of choice.

Once you apply for the tickets, you will need to provide your personal information such as your first and last name, date of birth, nationality and passport reference. You will also need to provide your home address, contact details and payment details.

You cannot purchase tickets for different matches being played on the same day.

Generally, expect to spend anywhere from $100 to $900, depending on the matches and categories you apply for. If the matches are anything like the most recent World Cups, it will be worth every penny.

Qualifying controversies

Wikinews has related news:Ireland requests replay of FIFA World Cup play-off with France Wikinews has related news:FIFA to make changes after Thierry Henry handball

In the second leg of theplay-off between France and the Republic of Ireland, French captainThierry Henry, unseen by the referee, handled the ball in the lead up to a late goal. The goal enabled France to qualify for the final 32 teams instead of Ireland. The incident spurred widespread debate on how matches should be refereed at the highest level. FIFA rejected a request from theFootball Association of Ireland to replay the match,[14] whilst a widely reported later request by Ireland to be included as an unprecedented 33rd World Cup entrant was later withdrawn.[15][16]

Costa Rica complained overUruguay’s winning goal in theCONMEBOL”CONCACAF playoff,[17]while Egypt and Algeria’sNovember 2009 matches were surrounded by reports of crowd trouble.

In response to the incidents during qualification, and to a match fixing controversy, on 2 December 2009 FIFA called for an extraordinary general meeting of their Executive Committee. After the meeting, FIFA announced that they would be setting up an inquiry into technology and extra officials in the game, but they did not announce the widely expected move of fast-tracking the introduction of goal-line referee’s assistants, already tested in theEuropa League, and instead restated that the competition in South Africa would be officiated as before, with just one referee, two assistants, and a fourth official.[18]

On the subject of fair play, FIFA President Sepp Blatter said:

I appeal to all the players and coaches to observe this fair play. In 2010 we want to prove that football is more than just kicking a ball but has social and cultural value… So we ask the players ‘please observe fair play’ so they will be an example to the rest of the world. “FIFA President Sepp Blatter,[19]

The 2010 Kiteboard World Pro Tour will kick on Long Bay beach in Portland, in which kiteboarders from the world-famous island of Jamaica will be competing for the Jamaica Kiteboard World Cup (JKWC). This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for sports enthusiasts and kiteboarders to vie and join the big wigs and the big league athletes of kiteboarding. This is because the Kiteboard Pro World Tour attracts a lot of professional sports enthusiasts the world over, from America to Australia.

Anybody who joins and competes in its events will be getting a lot of publicity on cable TV and will surely create a huge fan-following, boosting one’s chances of becoming not only a certified but also a profit-generating international sports athlete. Sports events will be shown live on sports cable television networks from around the globe. Talent scouts, sports agents and potential ad sponsors will be approaching the athletes who will be able to make to the rounds leading up to the final sports event. The rising popularity of kiteboarding has generated plans to include it in the next 2016 Olympics, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It has also joined the prestigious ranks of Xgames or extreme sports, much akin to bungee jumping, gliding and spelunking.

Kiteboarding is one of the few board sports gaining popularity among the watersports enthusiasts, adrenaline junkies and beach bums. Kiteboarding is the fusion of three sports into one highly skilled, highly technical activity”think about learning how to surf on a board, weaving your way through the ocean waves and the cool air, while simultaneously maneuvering a kite. It takes great talent, stamina and strength to be able to pull this off.

It seems simple to look at a handsome, bleached-blonde kiteboarder making his way though the waves, but one has to be able to familiarize himself with ground and wind velocity, which are both essential to ensure that one can balance himself with a board and kite, and then “fly” his way through the wind and waves. One needs to accustomize himself when launching and landing the kite. Instead of trying to learn how to kiteboard alone, it would be wise to hire the help of an expert in kiteboarding. This will ensure that the basic safety techniques will also be taught, in order to be able to manuerver the kitesurf and board smoothly. Also, an instructor can point out tips and possible dangers when kiteboarding kitesurf. Another money saver is investing on quality kiteboarding equipment, to ensure both safety and durability in using them while kitesurfing.

There are indications that the Indian travel industry would be doing a turn around in 2010 after a somewhat bleak season in 2009. This is also in line with the changing global scenario, which is slowly recuperating from the worldwide economic slump. In 2009, global travel markets dipped by as much as about 15% and India could not escape completely unscathed from the scenario. However, as of now, there are many positive projections. In fact, there have been estimates that the travel industry would grow by 5-6%, which is a shade higher than the predicted global average growth of 4.5%. Earnest government efforts are also highly likely to boost the travel industry. A case in point is the successful completion of Terminal 3 in the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. This terminal is now said to be the sixth largest in the world with a capacity to handle 37 million passengers every year. Billions of pounds went into its construction. The terminal spans more than four square kilometres and has 78 aerobridges, 97 automated walkways, and 168 check-in counters. It would not be unreasonable to assume that many airlines would increase the density of flights to India as the country is now better equipped to handle more visitors. With the opening of this terminal, India can now also play host to the Airbus A 380, the biggest passenger carrier in the world. Besides the completion of the new terminal, 2010 will also see Delhi hosting the Commonwealth Games. It is anticipated that over 3.5 million tourists would be converging upon India to witness this sporting extravaganza. This automatically implies that the travel industry would be doing brisk business. Here again, the government has left no stone unturned to gear up for this event. In fact, the entire city of Delhi is being given a major face lift. Some industry observers have even gone on to say that India in general and Delhi in particular might become one of the top travel destinations in the world. This assumption is based on the surge in Sydney’s popularity after the Commonwealth Games were hosted there. Overall, the year 2010 seems to be the harbinger of better times for the India travel industry. Everybody is eager for a share of the pie. Travel companies are falling over each other to offer the best possible deals to lure tourists. This in itself is prompting more and more bookings. Be it hotels, car hires, or airlines, 2010 would be one of those years when one may expect unbelievable travel deals. Even domestic carriers like Go Air are offering irresistibly lucrative fares on online ticket booking. All said and done, the fact of the matter is that the travel industry is viewing 2010 with keen anticipation.

Is because too much emphasis on gold, the pursuit of gold medals, the National Games there so many events, phenomena and scandals, the State Administration of Sports, the sports management center, delegations, referees groups have different positions in their respective and reason, in this dispute play different roles, the most frightening thing is that the previous National Games events in only a single individual, but National Games complex background of many events, from top to bottom, about vertical and horizontal, not only can be controlled by the delegation level.

The gold medal ranking battle, the host National Games in Jiangsu has become one of history’s fifth overlord, and Shandong, and Beijing formed the National Games, “a new three-strong”, the “Old Three strong” Guangdong, Liaoning, Shanghai launched regime change “big coup.” Of course, from a macroeconomic viewpoint, the expansion of the number of the Games great powers, China is undoubtedly a sign of increased physical strength.
