Italy much to my tremendous sadness has been eliminated from South Africa 2010 and will be leaving a world cup for the first time in their history without having won a single game. Uruguay showing the class and touch that at one time made their football the greatest in the world defeated a South African team that in all truth was simply outclassed and outplayed by their South American rivals. Soccer City is now officially open for business after a ceremony which saw South African president Jacob Zuma perform the necessaries before t he South African cup final between two of the lesser known teams. Again like before Cristiano Ronaldo failed to live up to his billing as the “world’s greatest player” as Portugal went out to Spain in a 1-0 lose. As for Spain though their football hardly excelled beyond having done enough to win and holding out for a victory; they did for the most part manage to control the game. In a solid display of football Argentina dominated in what was a convincing 4-1 win over South Korea to assure themselves a place in the round of 16.
