The gallery has an enchanting collection of the Venetian paintings dating back as far as the 1300′s on offer, these include such notable works as Paolo Veneziano’s Coronation of Mary, Carpaccio’s Crucifixion and Apotheosis, Lorenzo Lotto’s Portrait of a Young Gentleman in His Studio, Giovanni Bellini’s Madonna with Child between Saints Catherine and Mary Magdalen, Giorgione’s Tempest, Paolo Veronese’s Feast in the House of Levi, and Tintoretto’s Theft of St Mark’s Body and Crucifixion.
Ca’ d’Oro
One of the most beautiful palazzos on the Grand Canal in Venice, Ca’ d’Oro (house of gold) is known for its shiny gilt decorations, which makes its absolutely beautiful to the eye. The elegant palazzo designed by Giovanni Bon and his son Bartolomeo Bon was built between 1425 and 1434 it is now a very charming art gallery that is open for the public to see.
Palazzo Grassi
A white marble mansion on the Grand Canal of Venice, Palazzo Grassi is famous the world over as an art museum with an amazing garden theatre that has over 600 seats. The palatial museum is widely known for its art exhibitions, recent and past shows have featured infamous artists such as Picasso, Modigliani, and Balthus, as well as subjects of historical interest like the Phoenicians and Etruscans.
